#92 out of 365 - Famous Authors

" Dan Brown "

I've never really been one to read a lot when I have spare time, but reading the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown really captivated me and the way he writes kept me wanting more of his novels. Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress and Deception Point are 4 of his fantastic books. Certainly worth a read if you haven't already done so.

" Garden clock "

Another creative arrangement for your garden with this hanging clock made from drought tolerant plants. Taken at the Garden and Flower Show last month.

#25 out of 365 - Beverage of Choice

" Jim Beam & Cola "

Had these couple of cans in the fridge from when my brother came to visit. Bourbon and coke is certainly my favourite alcoholic beverage of choice, but not necessarily Jim Beam. But.......a fantastic drink !

#314 out of 365 - Swirls

" Swirls "

I saw this design on a paint shop in the local area and thought the pattern suited the theme nicely.

#128 out of 365 - Greek

" Greek Orthodox "

Melbourne, a city of diverse multi-culture and the 2nd largest population of Greek people outside of Athens. This is the Greek Orthodox Church in Prahran. A beautiful building for the community to worship the teachings of religion.

#103 out of 365 - Flowers

" Tulips "

One of my favourite flowers to photograph and probably many other people share a similar view. At the Garden and Flower Show, there was a section that seemed to be designated to bulb plants in particular Tulips with their abundance of vibrant colours.

#73 out of 365 - Cutlery

" Knifes, Forks and Spoons "

A very simple, yet practical invention from many centuries ago that is used in all of our daily lives.

#50 out of 365 - Circles

" Circles "

Taken at the Flower and Garden Show held at the Carlton Gardens in Melbourne. The array of landscaping ideas was amazing to see what people can create revolving around drought tolerant plants, trees, flowers, and ground covers.

The circular patterns really set off this landscaped garden.

#245 out of 365 - Pumpkin

" Pumpkin "

No it's no a close up of a weird looking moon, it's a little pumpkin that my wife bought at the supermarket today. So after seeing that there was a theme called "Pumpkin", I decided to take this shot.

#204 out of 365 - Nursery Rhymes

" The Three Little Pigs "

I found this book of rhymes and stories in our book case earlier tonight, and thought this is an old time favourite amongst parents telling their kids for a bedtime story.

#75 out of 365 - Dessert

" Ice-cream "

Well this was my little treat for after dinner tonight. Ice-cream with milo and cream. I know, totally unhealthy but certainly rather yummy for a dessert.

#39 out of 365 - Candlelight

 "Candlelight "

It always nice to have dinner by Candlelight or light some candles to set a soft and romantic mood whilst watching a movie by the open fireplace as winter approaches.

#210 out of 365 - One Dozen

" In the Carton "

One Dozen, seemed rather easy just to grab these out of the fridge and try and create something ! Managed to capture a reflection on the granite kitchen bench too.

#250 out of 365 - Rainbow

" Rainbow Styling "

I was sitting at the dining room table working on my photography and my blog and through the lounge room doors, a reflection of colour was made on the lounge room wall from the apartments next door.

I quickly got my camera out and took this photograph of the colours on the wall. I wondered exactly how this came about, as I hadn't seen this happen before.

As I stood on the deck, the suns rays were beaming against an open window from the apartment next door. The angle of the window made the rays hit the edge of the glass making this reflection.

It created it's own rainbow effect ! Brilliant.

#298 out of 365 - Spiral

" Spiral effects "

Whilst I spent a little quality time with my daughter, we went to the playground and I happened to see this as part of the equipment for the children to play on.
The red bark used for the ground cover of the playground made a fantastic contrast of the striking blue colour.

#332 out of 365 - Tools of the Trade

" Old Tools "
In the Australian Native section at the Zoo, there is an old wooden gate amongst the wildflowers as an entry point to sit down and relax.
It's quite a collage of various old tools that have been set inside the timber frame of the gate. I'm sure that some of them are still very much in use today by many a handyman from time to time.

#4 out of 365 - A Pair of.......

" a Pair of....... Blood Lillies "

Fascinating looking flowers. My common place of photography, the Melbourne Zoo, I was walking by and saw these flowers. A rich and vibrant red colour petruded from the soil and this is how they look.

#129 out of 365 - Green

" Green leaf "

I'm not entirely sure of the name for the plant from which this leaf grows, but the leaf is about the size of an Elephant's ear. With a rich green colour and the stems of the leaf makes for a great pattern.

#239 out of 365 - Power

" Power lines "

Converted this shot into black and white. One of the ugliest structures on the Australian landscape in my opinion, but in saying that they certainly help in supporting the wires to provide a valuable commodity to everyone..... Electricity !

#256 out of 365 - Reflections

" Reflections "

Whilst walking to the Orangutan enclosure at the Zoo this morning, I stopped on the walk way and looked across the pond where the Pelicans and some various other water birds all sit. There was about 5 pelicans by the edge of the water, but this one was casting a great reflection over the water.

Moment captured. Right place at the right time I guess.
